What is Is It This?
A fast yes-or-no mystery game paired with a browsable reference site.
How many questions do I get?
The current limit is 6, controlled by the server configuration.
Can I type my own question?
Yes. Custom questions are screened and evaluated server-side. Structured attributes are preferred when available.
What answers can the game give?
Yes, No, Sometimes, Not Applicable, or Not Appropriate.
Can I browse without playing?
Yes. Use Explore to go directly to categories and answer pages.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play and browse without creating an account.
How is my score calculated?
Wins start at 100 and lose points for extra questions, incorrect guesses, and unusable questions. Give-up and losses receive the Clueless label.
Where do the facts come from?
Published answer records include source links and are reviewed against reputable references before they appear in the library.
Does the game use AI?
Custom-question evaluation can use a server-side OpenAI model. Structured editorial attributes remain the preferred source when they apply.
